xmlLinguist will allow you to map your flat files and translate them through
the Map Editor, however this is all through manual click-throughs. Situations
will arise where this translation needs to be automated, typically in a
B2B, Integration scenario. xmlLinguist offers two ways to automate the
translation process: a Command Line drive EXE and an ActiveX COM Object in a DLL.
The command line driven EXE is a simple EXE that accepts command line parameters
to indicate which files to translate and what map to use. Note that this EXE
is the only version of the Translation Engine that accepts wildcards for
the source file (i.e. it can translate more than one file at a time).
The ActiveX COM Object allows automation through programatic means. You can
istantiate the COM object in any language that utilizes this Microsoft
feature (i.e. VB, Delphi, C++, etc.).
